Convenience
A built-in microwave oven can save space on your counters and make your kitchen appear more modern look. Because it acts as a microwave in addition to a traditional oven it is able to heat leftovers, frozen food items and meals that are pre-packaged in one appliance. It also eliminates the need for an additional countertop appliance or a bulky stand-alone wall oven. A combination microwave oven could be a great option for those who want to modernize your kitchen without having to undergo any major renovation projects.

Combination microwaves also have many features that can simplify meal preparation and make it more efficient. Some models have a sensor steam mode that adjusts the temperature and duration of your food automatically to ensure that you get perfectly steamed vegetables and fish. stoves built in microwave include a broil element that lets you quickly melt cheese or cook your favorite food and Crispwave(tm) technology that can grill, bake and crisp foods.
When selecting a microwave oven combination, make sure to consider how often you'll use each function. If you'll be using the oven more often than the micro, you may be better off buying a double wall-oven. Energy Efficiency
A built in microwave oven combo can provide an ideal space-saving solution for those with smaller kitchens, whether they live in a home or apartment. They can help save the space in cabinets that would otherwise be occupied by separate appliances, and also reduce energy consumption. They generally provide the most efficient cooking method than traditional wall ovens because they use less energy. They can also be used to cook food or warm meals. This means that there is less requirement for other appliances, such as toasters or warming plates.
When evaluating possible amendments to energy conservation standards, DOE conducts several analyses that include market and technology assessment, screening analysis, engineering analysis and national impacts analysis (NIA). In this SNOPR, DOE will draw on its existing engineering analysis on microwave ovens to determine the level of efficiency improvements are possible for this product category.
In the engineering analysis, DOE will compare the design parameters of a microwave to a set of energy performance objectives. The engineering analysis will then determine the maximum improvement in energy efficiency that is technologically feasible based on the most advanced microprocessor-controlled model available on the market or in working prototypes, or the maximum reduction in energy consumption that is technically achievable with the current technologies available for this product class.
As part of NIA, DOE will assess the effects on consumers, including the cost savings throughout the lifecycle and simple payback period (PBP). DOE will utilize its Government Regulatory Impact Model with an adaptation for microwave ovens to calculate industry net present value ("NPV").
Manufacturer impacts will be evaluated also and DOE will employ a modified version of its Industry Cash Flow model adapted to this particular product type to calculate the manufacturing NPV. DOE will also consider the effects of these proposals on small businesses as well as other manufacturing subgroups to determine those that may be disproportionately affected.
Additionally, DOE will consider whether the tests for microwave ovens must be revised to include active mode energy use as well as a possible integrated active mode energy use metric. The current test procedures only address the standby mode power usage.
Design
Microwaves generate heat through the process of causing water molecules to vibrate in food. Wall ovens are based on the circulation of hot air while microwaves rely on waves to cause food molecules to vibrate. Combination wall ovens combine these two different appliances into a single unit that can be used to save kitchen space and gives an elegant, modern look. However, you must carefully consider your goals and budget before deciding to purchase a combination wall oven. Some of the combo ovens we rated have design or performance issues.
